If your Awabot Pro robot is equipped with Assisted Driving LiDAR, you may see a Range finder problem error. This occurs when the system detects an issue with the LiDAR sensor.
Preliminary checks
Before opening the robot, perform these quick checks:
- Clear obstructions: Ensure nothing is blocking or covering the LiDAR sensor.
- Clean the lens: Wipe the LiDAR lens gently with a clean microfiber cloth.
Troubleshooting steps
If the error persists, follow these steps to inspect the internal connections:
- Undock the unit: Move the robot away from its charging dock.
- Power down: Press the power button on the back of the base to shut down the robot.
- Open the base: Remove the base lid of the robot.
- Inspect the USB Hub: If your unit includes a USB hub, verify that all connected cables are firmly plugged in.
- Check LiDAR connection: Ensure the cable connected directly to the LiDAR sensor is seated securely.
- Restart: Replace the lid and press the power button on the back of the base to power on.
- Test: Check the interface to see if the error has cleared.
Note: If the error remains, the LiDAR sensor or the robot dock may be defective.
