Shipping and safety information
Awabot One robots uses an AGM GEL-celled, non-spillable, maintenance-free battery. These batteries are classified for transport under IATA UN2800, Class 8, Special Provision A67.
Note: robots do not use Lithium-Ion batteries. Therefore, the IATA UN3171 classification does not apply to our hardware.
Transport compliance
Our batteries comply with the following safety standards:
- Special provision A67: The electrolyte will not flow from a ruptured or cracked case at 55°C. The battery contains no free or unabsorbed liquid.
- Terminal protection: When packaged for transport, terminals must be protected from short circuits using non-conductive caps.
- Packing instruction 806: Batteries must be protected against short circuits and securely packed in strong outer packaging.
