This guide provides step-by-step instructions for replacing the battery in your Awabot One robot.
Required tools
- Long Arm M4 Allen Wrench (or 4 mm Hex Tool)
- Scissors
- 3 Zip Ties
- Helper (Recommended)
- Original Foam Packing (Recommended)
- Prep your robot: Power down the robot's head by pressing the power button located to the left of the face.
- Prep your workspace: Gently lay the robot on its face to expose the bottom of the unit.
Note: Use the original robot packing foam to protect the head and stabilize the base during this process.
- Remove base screws: Use an M4 Allen wrench to remove all 13 screws from the bottom of the base.
- Reposition the robot: Support the neck and base while you return the robot to an upright position.
- Expose wiring: Carefully lift the head and stem away from the base to access the internal wiring.
- Cut zip ties: Have a helper carefully cut all existing zip ties.
- Disconnect interface cables: Disconnect the power cable connector and USB cables to fully release the head and stem from the base.
- Remove battery strap: Unscrew the two screws holding the battery strap in place.
- Disconnect power cables: Disconnect the battery and charger power cables.
- Extract battery: Lift the battery up and out of the battery pocket.
- Install new battery: Repeat steps 1 through 10 in reverse order to connect and secure your new battery.
