Note: This procedure is intended to circumvent the internal SSD of Awabot One robots. It should only be performed upon instruction from technical support, specifically in the event that your robot's internal hard drive has been diagnosed as defective. Upon completion of this process, the permanent use of the mini USB will be required to operate the robot.
Required tools:
- Symptomatic Awabot One robot
- Charging dock
- Prepared "Live OS" mini USB
- USB keyboard
Step 1: Robot preparation
- Reset your robot's motor board.
- Connect a USB keyboard to the robot.
- Connect your robot to its charging dock.
Step 2: Disable internal SSD
- Immediately begin pressing the Delete key [Del] repeatedly to open the BIOS.
- Arrow right to view the Advanced tab.
- Arrow down to select SATA Configuration and press Enter.
- Press Enter to launch SATA Mode, highlight IDE Mode and press Enter to select.
- Press Escape [Esc] to return to the main menu.
Step 3: Boot with mini USB
- Arrow right to the Boot menu and set Boot Priority as follows:
- Boot Option #1: [USB Hard Disk]
- Boot Option #2: [USB Flash]
- Boot Option #3: [Network]
- Upon setting the new Boot order, insert the LiveOS USB into the available USB port on the robot.
- In the BIOS, arrow right to select Exit.
- Select YES to "Save configuration and reset?".
- Your robot will now restart and boot directly from the LiveOS USB.
Step 4: Reconfigure and pair
- Reconnect the USB keyboard if necessary.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to select a language.
- Proceed with Wi-Fi setup by selecting a network and entering your credentials.
- Remove the keyboard to continue.
- The configuration process will stop at Connecting and display a pairing key.
- You will need to provide this code to the support team so that your robot can be paired to our infrastructure.
Note:
- If at any point the process is unsuccessful, begin again at step 1.
- If the process fails again, create a new Live OS USB using a new USB flash drive.
