This document summarizes the various methods for managing the power, sleep mode, and restart of Awabot One robots. These instructions apply exclusively to this model.
Option 1: Shutdown and sleep mode via the head button (new method)
Following the software update 2.26.0706, you can now manage the device's power status directly using the button located on the left side of the robot's head.
General procedure:
- Press the head button to access the main menu.
- The menu displays three options: SLEEP, SHUTDOWN or CANCEL.
- PRESS the button to make your selection. If no action is taken, the highlighted option will automatically activate after a 10-second countdown.
SLEEP Mode
Select this option for a temporary pause. The robot will enter a power-saving mode and appear as "Disconnected" to users.
- Confirmation: The screen will display "SLEEP MODE IN 15 SECONDS". You can PRESS AGAIN to CANCEL.
- To wake up the robot: Simply press the button once to make the robot accessible again.
Note: Keep the device charging on its docking station while in sleep mode.
SHUTDOWN Mode
Select this option to completely turn off the device before long-term storage.
- Confirmation: The screen will display "SHUTDOWN IN 15 SECONDS". You can press the button again to CANCEL and go back.
Note: To be shut down using this method, the Awabot One robot must absolutely be off its docking station.
- To turn the robot back on: Reposition it onto its powered charging dock.
Option 2: Stop via keyboard (alternative method)
Use this complete system shutdown method before long-term storage or to resolve persistent software or system errors.
- Remove the robot from its charging dock.
- Access robot settings using a USB keyboard.
- Navigate to Tools > Power > Shut Down.
- Unplug the keyboard and wait for the robot to stop completely.
- To restart: Simply place the robot back onto its powered charging dock.
Option 3: Forced restart
Use this method only if the robot is completely unresponsive to reboot and reset all internal hardware components.
- Press and hold the power button continuously for 6 seconds.
- Release the button and wait approximately 5 minutes for the unit to restart on its own.
Note: Never use a forced restart for long-term storage. Instead, use the stop procedure via the head button or the keyboard interface.
